SHAPES

The 1919 Catalogue, the 1924 Supplementary Catalogue and the Price Lists detailed the list price for both undecorated and decorated pieces according to their shape. The 1919 prices in the original catalogue were inked out when accompanied by the subsequently issued 1920, 1921 and 1924 price lists. Some shapes appear on only one price list while others appeared repeatedly.

Since almost every piece was hand thrown by Mr. John Swallow prior to his death in 1920, shapes are consistent but not identical. The final dimensions often vary by 1/4 inch or more from the dimensions described in the catalogues or advertisements. Many of the common shapes were produced in several different sizes.
